I was wondering. Will the folding ROPS on a BX24 fit a BX2660 and if so has anyone made the change? What would the cost be? I would like to put one on mine if it can be done.

Good question, I am not sure. I could tqake measurements of the bolt locations where the 6 nuts is holding down the rops to fender area. Do you realize that the BX24 rops doesn't fold all the way ? its can be problem when hooking up the 3 pt implements and you standup to get out of the way and BANG! you hit your head on the "folded" rops.

I think that the BX series ROPS can be swapped. There was a member here that put a non folding one on his BX24 so it would fit through the garage door, vs folding it each time.

I am not recommending that anyone do this, but we cut and shortened a ROPS on one of our tractors so it would fit into one of our sheds.

hey FSE- just wondering, whats your reason for wanting a foldable rops ?

Me too. I hate hitting my head on that thing. I even put yellow/black caution tape on it and still continue to knock my noggin' once in a while.

Smashed my gourd on that folding thing many times too...Gets your attention in a hurry...Gives me another reason to go into a Chevy Chase Chistmas Vacation obscene tirade.:D

the only thing worse than you hitting your head on the rops ,is not putting the pins in it and forgetting it and with vibration it falls into your head ..its a wake up call

I dont know. Looks cool. Cant play with the BX because of weather and just looking for a reason to mess with it. Ran out of post to read and thought this would make a good one. lol

You don't want a BXxx ROPS unless you are using a backhoe. The thing is ridiculously tall specifically to accommodate the backhoe seat position.

Which is at least part of the reason my ROPS stays folded for most work....

Which is at least part of the reason I regularly bang my head on it after working on the 3PH.

FSE, not a problem, I just don't think the tradeoff for banging the noggin is worth the headache for a folding one. Just out of curiousity, what is the hieght of your ROPS on your tractor that doesnt fold? I am curious what the dimension from floor to ROP and fender to ROPS ?

To be honest I don't know. I will measure it when I get home and let you know. I never thought about bumping my head on it and I don't have trees to worry about. It will fit in my shop without hitting the rolling door. I was thinking they folded all the way down. I didn't know only folded out and didn't lay flat. If that is the case I don't want one.

Just when I think it has learned better, my ROPS will attack my head or the top of the garage door.

It is 37 1/2 inches from the fender to the top of the ROPS. I forgot to measure from the floor.
