I will try a new radiator cap how would I go about checking the water pump? I don't think it is that because it looks like drips coming from the upper radiator hose. It also only happens if I full throttle the machine. And it is intermittent
There is a tool called a cooling system pressure tester. It is a small hand pump with a pressure gauge that attaches to the radiator opening. Pump it up to about 15 PSI and look all around for leaks. Those pressure testers can also check the relief pressure of the cap.
hi cubowner . i have been away 4 few days and no internet . have u had success in repairing coolant leak in ur BX24? whilst not proficient at this web site yet will keep on learning as i do enjoy chatting to u blokes . Cooling system leaks can be related to any opening in the system.
They can be something loose, or a bad seal.
When things Heat up they will expand. That expansion of the liquid is what creates the pressure, NOT the pump. The pump is there to circulate the coolant...
You could have a small leak point open up due to the expansion of any part, Plus the pressure from the expanded coolant... That combination could cause a fine spray that may be hard to track down... KennyV
Leaking anti-freeze usually leaves a white residue at point of exit, check your tractor when cold for white staining around the rad and hoses, I had something similar happen on my car, turned out to be a hairline crack in the top radiator header tank, which are mostly plastic now.
