BX23s Headlight Question

Are you going to do a video of yours when you get some of that darned ugly white stuff?

I do have a GoPro-wannabe. I'll have to look and see how I might mount that for a video; I was planning on it at some point. I also want one during the daylight hours so I can see how far the snow goes with this blower.

I took the tractor out around the property to do some final aiming adjustments on the lights tonight. Oh my gawd, what a difference... its almost scary bright...lol.

Did you add a light bar to your ROPs?

Nope. Normal incandescent fro bxpanded.com. They are bright enough, and just clamp on. Back then, LEDs were new and very expensive. But today if I were to do it I would certainly get LEDs.

I hear that! They can be VERY expensive!
I updated my rear halogen utility light yesterday that i just put on a few days ago. I replaced it with a 4 bulb LED floodlight. I cant believe how much better the LED is, over the old halogen lights. And draws far less amperage!

And this time, i bought one of those magnetic bases for the rear light (from tractor supply) so that i can move it around the tractor and use it as a work light where i need it.

As promised over a week ago, here's my GoPro-wannabe video from the ROPS.


This was my first time out with my new Berco Pro 1 56 inch snowblower. We got 5-6 inches of heavy, wet snow over night. I had used it about 1 minutes so far when I started the video. Oh my, I learned so much and I have SO much to learn.
1) I have cleared my driveway with a shovel, walk-behind, tractor & loader, and a 6 foot blade. I still can't find the edges or drive straight!
2) A new cutting edge on a snow blower can substitute for a sod cutter and you never have to bend down to pick up the sod after it's cut. (notice the snow gets dark at the end of each run....) This won't be an issue once the ground gets frozen, but for now, it's a problem.
3) Leaves, sticks, sand, and sod will clog a blower up faster than wet snow.
4) Light helps, but water on the windows still makes it tough to see.
5) Lift the blower too high and snap a sheer pin from the angle on the driveshaft (less than 2 minutes into use).

I hope to have another video taken from a distance and in daylight so you can see the blower toss it. This stuff would push up ahead of the blower up to 6 or 8 feet at times just like it was a blade, but if it got into the blower, it went up to 5 feet. First time out, I'd have to give it 2 thumbs up.

Thanks Ray!!! We`re getting our first snow this coming sunday... nothing much, but i`m sure i`ll have to get the blade out and try it out for the first time though. Your lights looks as though they shine pretty decent!!!

I was pleased by the lighting, now I need to figure out a way to wipe the lexan back window so I can see what I'm doing instead of all the water drops. This may be a bigger challenge than the lights.
