Thanks for braving the cold for the pics. My JD X300 had a similar chute design to yours.

I'm just plain stumped - another 10 minutes working with the thing and I just don't see anyway to leave the grass deflector in place. Taking it off is a bit of a pain, with the spring and all, but if I have to that's what I'll do.

The dealer could have ordered the wrong one. They sent me one for a ZTR originally.

I'm running a 54" MMM. My deck is stored about 15 mile from the house, but will try to get a pic this weekend for you.

One other thing, I had to grind a little bit off of the front ear for it to fit under the grass deflector. I'll try to find the part number for the correct shaft for you.

I think I solved the problem, and will confirm it later this morning: the wrong adapter was ordered. Check out the attached image, and see if you concur. The part # that was ordered is at the first arrow, the part # I believe should have been ordered is by the second arrow. The difference being that the second # refers to BX series decks.

The right tool makes the job a lot easier!

And the dealer ordered the correct part # for me this morning...

Both my decks have a pin that looks like what "638" posted, my brother has a BX with a 54" deck and his also has the deflector pin like in "638's" picture, I think your pin is not the original pin that Kubota puts on their deflectors.
