BX2360 Price

Greetings -

Preparing to pull the trigger on a new BX2360. I priced it out with a 54" deck and the standard loader. Total came to $14800.00. Wondering if I should try negotiating lower, and what sort of tactics might be useful. I know the other nearby Kubota dealer quoted more, so perhaps there isn't much room for dealing.

I'm also taking a bath on a trade in if I do it 蔓a 2006 John Deere X300 with 150 hours on it. They offered $800.00 which seems way low but I don't know the margin for a typical trade in.

Your price sounds a bit high...I bought a new BX2660 last year with FEL, box blade, and 48" rotary cutter for $14K. And I have seen similar responses from others that come in lower than that.

I do not have the mowing deck, which is a little pricer than the rotary cutter from what I understand. But your price still strikes me as a little high.

That does seem high in price, I would hold onto the John Deere as a back up
unit, eliminate the belly mower in the price and buy a 48 inch Caroni rear mounted flail mower from Agrisupply and they will ship it to your door with shipping cost included in the price. The Agrisupply folks have a continuos internet sale price special for thier Caroni flail mowers.

I called Barlow and we're now looking at a much more competitive price (around $13500). I'll order from them next week; I'm going to examine that rear mower you guys mentioned.

Once you go Flail Mower, YOU NEVER GO BACK!!!!


They are much safer to use around pedestrians and animals and road sides- no grass blown in the road etc.

Iron Horses experience with a rotary slasher will provide you with much usefull insight with regard to flailmowers and how he uses them in Australia.

First, don't trade your Deere. The amount of money offered isn't going to make or break any deal, especially with zero down financing. Keep that Deere until spring and buddy, it will fly off of Craigs at much more money in your pocket.

Yes, the price seems a touch high. You can do better. Stop by another dealer and push hard. Then, you'll have a competitive edge to push back against your present dealer. Don't know how far you are from Barlow's, but I would also want to know their price. They'll deliver to your door from Kentucky.

I got My BX2360 with FEL in March of 09 for 11,800 and could of got the 54" deck for 2,000. My friend down the road just got the same unit - deck for 12,200 $400 more than My unit. He also could of got the 54" deck for $2,000 but also passed.

I don't know about the price, but I much prefer a MMM to any type of rear mount for lawn mowing; regular mowing different story maybe.
