You are correct. Both that I listed include a canopy in the price I listed.

The RJ Parts cab has a hinged door versus a zipper door and costs 600 bucks less? I'll take the RJ

After much research, I too purchased the RJ ("Original") cab; it will be arriving in the next few days.

I just installed the Orginal Cab Saturday. I ordered it from RJ, and received it the next day by UPS. I'am very satisfied so far with RJ, and Orginal Cab Company. It will take a snow storm before I pass final judgement. Just be aware that there are a lot of places on the BX's for air to get in, so heating it isn't real practical. I just wanted in out of the cold and snow. Wayne

Not to bad. A friend of mine is a mechanic in a car dealership, and a farmer ( he helped me insall it) and it went pretty smooth. When we skipped through the directions it caused us some time. Took us about 3 hours, and 1 beer (He doesn't drink) I studyed this for 3 winters, and finally decided to do it. I would have done it sooner but I have a plow on a pickup, so I don,t use the tractor a lot, but it gets darn cold on the tractor in the open. I didn't get the windshield or the wiper. I thought I'd try it without it, and can always get it later. I worked at a Ford Tractor dealership 68-84, and we sold a lot of Orginal Cabs then. They always had good products. Wayne

I purchased the cab from tractorcab depot, the canopy showed up today 7 days later, but no enclosure. Called them and they said the enclosure is not made yet, and would probally be another 10 to 14 days!!!. Need to tell us UPfront about delivery

Looking for Input from current owners of either of the following cabs.

This one is around $700 plus shipping. Plus another $330 for a glass windscreen and wiper

This one is around $1600 plus shipping.

Anyone with experience with either, are you satisfied?
If anyone recommends a different soft side cab please respond.

Thanks

Thanks for the responses. I ended up ordering the more expensive one because it is supported by the canopy and looks like it will be much easier to install/remove seasonally. Both have good and bad points. On the lower priced unit I could have added the glass windshield and wiper which isn't an option on the more expensive unit. Oh well. Hopefully I am happy with it.

Wayne,
Could you post some pictures of your cab when you get a chance? I'd like to see how it mounts and how it attaches to the canopy.
TIA!

I haven't done it yet (still in the house with the 3 car driveway, we use shovels) but I would think the windshield would be the IMPORTANT part.
You blow the snow
The wind blows the snow you blew
You eat the snow the wind blew!

I expect it works the same with a rear blower :)

In fact, when talking tractors and snow blowers, "she who keeps the checkbook" said - if you get a tractor and a snow blower get a cab. She grew up in snow country and has plowed her parents circular driveway a fair bit. I'm inclined to take her advice.

I just recently purchased a(vinyl) cab from Original Cab Co. for my 2360.
It seems pretty good but it does take a little time to install. ( should be better the next time)
The only glitch is for those of us who have the "manual chute rotator" on the front blower, the Co. did not allow an opening in the cab for the rod.....
I'm working with Original Cab to get it corrected. ( hopefully)
I'll give a better report later in the "snow season".

I received my Original cab from RJ earlier in the week and installed it yesterday. 3 hours is about right if you've never done one. I got the glass windshield and wiper; haven't put the wiper on yet. I may send it back, because I'm thinking if you give the windshield a good dose of Rain-X you shouldn't need the wiper at all. Note: don't put Rain-X on plastic windows because it'll turn 'em yellow. :(

I'm using the Original Cab on my BX24. It mounts inside the folding rops so that is the part that differs from the BX2350. I had to fab a couple of brackets to support the rear out of flat stock that bolt into the rear seat bracket (the flat bar between the rops), no welding.

Anyway .. in Maine the cab is EXCELLENT. I removed the controls on the rear fenders and put a slotted piece of craft foam underneath to stop the air from coming in, also a few other minor spots to tighten it up with foam insulation.

For heat, I use a microwave stadium cushion. 5 Minutes in the microwave and it keeps my butt warm. Cushion is called "Lava Buns" amd cost around $25. Plenty warm for clearing 3 large driveways.

I have the non-rigid windshield and it has been fine for the 3 years I've used it so far. But it does get covered with misting snow once in a while.
I would like the glass but haven't purchased one yet. If you want to sell yours, I could be conviced to take a ride to Portland (I'm in Augusta).

Also for the manual chute rotator, it requires a hole cut through the material. I enforced the hole with Gorilla Duct tape both sides and it's been fine. Now since I built a window motor rotator, I simply taped over the hole.

Looking for photo ...

Peter, would you have a photo of the brackets you made for the BX24. That may be just what I am looking for.
