I have less than 10hrs (5 hrs when bought) and the lock is not operating. I did a search here and didnt see anybody else have problems. I guess its going back to the dealer already.

It did work at first. I was working in mud and was useing it and then it quit working.
I looked at the linkage and it seems to go straight into the rear.

Hey neighbor, welcome to TBN.

I broke my BX23 diff lock at a couple hundred hours. I used to just stomp it with abandon. Now I treat it like gold. Engage while setting still and gently get the wheels turning a bit until it engages. Do the straight pull and let off. It usually sticks and can make one heckuva racket disengaging around a corner when it does. POP!

Anyway, when I broke it the little shaft into the transmission would not turn. The pedal (on mine) is attached to a flat spring, in turn attached to an input shaft. That baby would no longer turn.

Not sure what they did to fix it, but it came back with new hydraulic oil...

Enjoy the warranty, that is what they are there for :)

Enjoy the warranty but dont break it again or you'll find yourself in my shoes!! The warranty rep told me he has seen a few bx lockers fail, I wonder what the difference is from the B series?

Question David; are you trying to enage it sitting still or are you trying while the wheels are spinning/slipping?
Is the pedal going all the way down or does it feel stuck?

I would stop in low gear, step on the pedal but I would back up after dumping a load in mud turning the wheel to turn around. Never heard any poping sound of any kind. Yes the pedal goes down with no resistance and the spring returns it it to the top.

Since it's going all the way down w/ no reistance and your in mud, are both your rear tires not turning together then?
Sorry just trying to figure out why you think it's broken.

I brought the bx back to the shop (on a trailer the dealer loaned me) The mechanic test drove it and the differential didnt lock. Then he looked underneath and saw a piece of linkage was missing. Then the Manager asked if it looked like my fault. The mechanic said no. The manager told him to borrow one off the 2350 on the lot, and sent me home.
Over all I am happy with the results.

On a side note someone on here posted that their front axle was low on fluid when they got it home. After 4 hours use I checked mine and it took almost a gallon to bring it up. I mentioned this to the manager and he kind of said that they come fully put together and his guys should have done a better job on the precheck.

Allso the throttle wasnt tight and would return to idle by it self. I called the shop and they were baffled. A quick search showed me where to look and I fixed it. A nut had fell off that should have been double nutted tight.
When removing the mower I seen the leveling bolts were loose. One was fully adjusted up and the other down. When I put it back on I will follow the install instructions from scratch.
Not trying to be a complainer, just share my experience.

Its good that you have a eye for these things, or else like some people would have problems downt he road. Now you got your BX buttoned up, you got to know you BX a little better and now its time to enjoy some seat time!:)
