when using the backhoe yesterday I noticed a 3 to 4 inch paint bubble inside the bottom of the bucket and rust underneath. After digging some wet areas a couple of weeks ago I curled the bucket and later noticed water was resting in the buckle as the probable cause.

Is this normal or do users from time to time clean, sand and repaint their buckets. If so, what type of black paint do you use.

Thanks

I've never repainted mines but yes, buckets tend to rust. The paint of my backhoe bucket started to peel at the first day of use. It's normal. You can sandblast and repaint them if you want to keep them away from rust. Your choice

It would seam that you just need to use it more, the more dirt you dig, the more shinny it will become, dirt acts like sand paper, removing the paint, but keeping the metal all shinny. Well at least thats been my experience with larger BH's. Can't wait to try it when my new BX 23 arrives.
