Tractor
Kubota BX23
I have a small patch of field I want to rototill for a garden. I am being lazy and want to use my BX23 instead of doing it by hand. I no longer own a rototiller for this tractor but have access to a 6' rototiller I can use. Is this to much for the little BX? I am probably going to try it anyway but was wonering if anyone else has tried it.

Regards

I'll be very curious to hear how it works. With HST and a creep speed of .01mph I suspect you'll be ok.

I will be finding real soon.......lol With the little bit of experience I have with rototillers will be if the tractor can hold it back which will be more of a soil issue. These soils are fairly loose so I am thinking I may be OK.

Can you even lift it?
I have the unit mounted. The tractor has no problem at all lifting it but it is a heavy unit. For safety I left the FEL on for counter weight and I ate a big lunch to help out.

Results: No problem. I stalled the tractor once by burying it too deep all at once. Other then that really no issues at all. Sure does clear an area in no time. These soils were pretty soft and workable. I could see the tractor having it's hands full in clay or boney stuff.

I am with Z. Where are the pictures. I recall a thread a ways back where another TBNr had a similar set up. That tiller looked like a monster on the back of his 2230.

Sorry guys I did not take pics. Wish I had though. The funny part was I tilled a spot 12' X 12' with a 6' tiller. Talk about over kill!!! The tiller did look pretty mean on there.

Cool. Any chance of a photo? We can call it the Kubotanivorous tiller!

Here's a pic with a 6' on a BX2200, no problem lifting it. Didn't get to try it out though.
