Guys and Gals,

Looking for a confirmation on the 3PTH. Its listed as CAT 1, but is it CAT 1 or a limited CAT 1. I'm buying a sprayer that is CAT 1 and not a CAT 0 with CAT 1 pins so I want to make sure it will actually fit. I had a rear blade that the 3PTH would not mount on until I turned the pins inside.

I would consider it a "Limited Category 1" hitch. I have a full size 60 gallon Fimco 3 point sprayer with pto pump that I mount up to my BX2230 without a problem.

Hi Matt,

Lots of heated discussion about this in the archives. Specs are Cat. 1, but older models had limited lift. BX24, 2350, 2660 all have same spread as others, but increased lift.

Also, as you and I have both discovered, the width will not accommodate some attachments (the 30" pond scoop Northern sent me by mistake was too wide).

Best thing to do is just loosen the turnbuckles all the way and get out the tape measure. Do the same thing on the sprayer.

Additionally, you and I both know that at max. lift arm spread, the the arms hit the BH6000 subframe before full lift is achieved. I am building a dolly for my BH6000 and plan to grind off the bottom outside portions of those "wings" of the subframe. All they do is guide the locking pieces together. With a dolly and a smooth concrete floor, I will be able to maneuver the tractor and BH into mated position without those little ears sticking out like that. To get back to the point, if this sprayer maxes out your spread, you won't be able to lift to full height due to the subframe problem (unless you copy my surgery).

Have you thought about a pair of Pat's easy change system? Quite a few say the extension gives enough added width to accommodate implements otherwise too wide.

Good luck,
Tom

Tom

I was thinking of the same surgery but I would have to do it while it was still on the tractor. If I have inside pin mounts I'm fine, only items with the outside pin mess me up. Take some photos of what you plan to do or ping me off list.
