Price Check BX2200

I found a local guy who has a Kubota BX2200 4WD for sale with a 60" belly mower and a loader. He says that the front light cover and the back lights are broken, but other than that it's in good condition. However it has 2,879 hours on it. He's asking $7,000 for it.

I'm a little hesitant, because of the hours on it. But wanted to get you guys' opinion? I'm attaching the picture that he sent me too.

That seems a little high for those hours. I have a 2003 and I've only managed to put 650hours on it. What year is the one you're looking at?

My gut reaction is too much! You should be able to get something a lot newer / less hours for that money.

I'm not sure on the year, he never said and it wasn't in his ad. When I told him that I was a bit concerned about the hours on it, he got a little huffy and told me that "you know it's a diesel and they run for a long time"

I bought my 2200 with 660 hours on it for $8200, LA211 loader and a 4 foot RMM included in 2008. That's a lot of hours for the price. I'd keep looking.

My first Kubota tractor was a BX2200 which I bought `12 years ago which was not the first or last yeart of production of that model.
That's to much money for that tractor with that many hours because you can get a newer model with less hours for that amount of money. I bet Barlows has one to deliver you now for a better deal than that and maybe even other dealers. As you can see on here owners want more money for their tractor than dealers will often time sell them. Owners make it personal as you discovered and they are just product to be sold for dealers.

What they said, we love our BX2200, but to much money for that many hours I don't care if it is a diesel, the value just isn't there. Not saying it's a bad tractor or worn out, just that there are much better values out there.

There are a lot of other things that wear besides the diesel engine.

With that many hours there will be repair and replacement problems galore unless the original owner kept everything serviced, fixed, and handled the tractor with care. Do a search here on TBN for the BX2200 to see what problems to look out for. The transmission fan is #1 on the list. Hydraulic lines are second. You will find more.

See if the owner has service records or, if a dealer does the service, there are records there. It is worth hauling the tractor to a dealer to have it evaluated.

And, as others have said, that is far too much to charge for a BX2200 with that many hours.

Looks to be needing cleaned. If a person who didn't give the effort to clean it up before taking the picture to sell it, probably didn't give the effort to maintain it. I'd pass on this one for that reason.

It won't take much work to do better than that. I sold my 2200 6 years ago for $7500-it had 1250 hours on it and it was a lot nicer than the one pictured. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the tractor I sold-it had a 60" MMM and FEL.
