BX2200 or JD2210 or JD4010

Yes get the 62 inch, I got the 2210 and 62 mmm, it doesn't stick out too far past the wheels. I would think with the 54 it would be hard to get close to anything, and it seems trying to get close to trees the ROPS is always in the branches. But I do keep thinking if I would have got the 54 I could get a bit more seat time.

Definitly should have gone with the 62 inch deck. The 54 will produce a larger uncut turning radius and will not trim as close. Get the 60/62 inch. J

I think the 62 would be better for trees, but what about the ditches? I think the 54 would be better for the road ditches. I only have 1 acre finished and the other 4 is a field. I should use a rotary for it but if I keep on top of it the MMM should be ok. Is there any difference in build quality between the 62 and 54?

I cannot answer about build quality but again I would definitly get the 60 inch. I use mine in ditches, I am not sure what you are asking /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif . I sure would hate to have a 12,000 dollar plus tractor that has less cutting width than something from Home Depot /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif. Unless you have something that restricts you like gates or narrow areas (that is why they make string cutters and push mowers) I would not even consider a 54 inch deck on such a nice tractor. J

Well, spent the day driving around looking again. Actually found the three mentioned tractors finally. I did not like The Kubota. The steering wheel seems too far away for me. I like some of the features. I like the JD loader control closer and better and the steering wheels seemed more comfortable. I was all set with the 2210, then saw the 4010. I liked it also. The dealers were all closed. Does anyone have pricing on the 4010 compared to 2210?
MMM, FEL.
The 4010's 18 horse seems small, but, with the bigger tractors it seems they are trying to overcome there size with power. Shoot you can go to Sears and get 25hp.

I AM THE SILENT PARTICIPANT TO THIS POINT AND THINK THAT YOU HAVE MADE A FAIR CHOICE. THESE TRACTORS ARE SO CLOSE IN COMPARATIVE FACTORS, THAT WE ARE JUST TAKING EVERY ANGLE POSSIBLE AGAINST THEM TO DETERMINE WHATS BEST.
I HAVE A 970 JD FWA,FEL, AND ALL KINDS OF ATTACHMENTS.
I ALSO HAVE A 38" KABOTA. BOTH MACHINES ARE 5 YEARS OLD, AND NO MAINTENACE OTHER THAN PREVENTIVE(OIL, FILTERS, ETC.)
HOWEVER, I JUST BUILT A HOUSE ON 3 ACRES- ROLLING HILLS, AND HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING ALL OF THESE TRACTORS BX22, 2210, 2300. I AM ALMOST **** ABOUT RESEARCHING SOMTHING TO DEATH BEFORE MAKING A MOVE. I HAVE BEEN A JOHN DEERE FAN ALL MY LIFE(MY FATHER IS A FARMER) AND AM GOING TO REMAIN SO. I HAVE A 2210 WITH MMM-64" ORDERED AND WILL BE GETTING IT TEUSDAY-WEDNESDAY. IN RETROSPECT, THERE IS AN ISSUE OF CONCERN TO MYSELF, AND THAT WAS THE FUEL FILTER MOUNTED TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE FRAME ON THE 2210. NO ONE HAS MENTIONED THIS TO THE FORUM AND WANTED TO MAKE YOU AWARE OF IT WITH THE CONSIDERATION OF A FEL AND SOMTHING GOING BACK AND BUMPING IT. BUT, LIKE I SAID, I HAVE ONE TO PICK UP THIS WEEK. I FEEL THIS A VERRRY NICE MACHINE AND AM LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING IT.
ALSO, IF YOU CAN GET THE "KITCHEN PASS", IM WITH THE WISCONSINGUY-------GET THE 62" DECK.

P.S.
THE KABOTA COME IN FROM MARRIAGE, AND FOR ALL KABOTA FANS, THIS MOWER HAS BEEN EXCELLENT. I THINK KABOTA MAKES A VERY DEPENDABLE PRODUCT AND HAVE NOT ONE THING TO SAY AGAINST KABOTA. ALL THE PEOPLE I KNOW THAT HAVE ONE HAVE BEEN PLEASED WITH IT. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I saw the same concern on the location of the feul filter a few months ago, see this thread for pictures.

web page

The way to solve the problem is to get a FEL /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Good luck with your new tractor.

Some how I am now an unrgistered user.
I started this thread and just want every one to know how unhappy I am with JD.
I purchased a JD2210 FEL 54"MMM.
The tractor was in but had to wait for a month for the MMM and FEL.
I was approved by JD Credit for the 75% borrowed.
When they delivered the tractor I had final papers to sign.
The JD Credit contract had a couple of things I disagreed with.
JD wanted the ability to use your info for any reason they saw fit and the kicker "FOREVER".
At the end of the Consent paragragh it read:
"We and our affiliates may use such information in our records for so long as it is needed for the purposes above and your consent remains valid after termination of our relationship with you."
So if you want the discounted financing be prepared to give up your personal and financial info to who ever JD wants to sell it to for as long as they want to.
They will not budge on this. Give up your right to privacy forever or NO Financing. You get 1 day warning.
They come for the tractor in the morning.

Mdog,

What were the "purposes above" that were listed?

Maybe it is not as bad as it sounds at first, if they specifically state certain limited uses...

I went for zero percent with Kubota...nothing signed yet and the dealer is trying to locate a tractor right now...

Most people probably don't read the fine print. My guess is that most of what is on the credit application is available to whoever wants it anyway...be sure you are losing that tractor for a "real" rather than just a perceived reason...would be my advice. Been there/done that is speaking here /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Hope things turn out for the best. I have to see what the Kubota contract says...but I will probably sign it anyway...
