The HST pedal is sticking on my BX2200. It's not sticking at the pivot, which is well greased and easily moved. It's much more noticeable on low range than on high, where you really can't tell. Any ideas?
I was sure this was covered in an existing thread, but searching couldn't seem to find it.
Re: BX2200 HST pedal sticking (it\'s not the pivot)
I have the BX22 and it just started doing that on Saturday. I thought it was just me. I am going to try to tighten the spring for the pedal. I hope that helps.....
Re: BX2200 HST pedal sticking (it\'s not the pivot)
My BX22 does this a little bit, too. I haven't dug into it yet, but plan on looking at it on the weekend. 'Gotta be something "simple"... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Re: BX2200 HST pedal sticking (it\'s not the pivot)
From the previous thread on this problem I sort of remember it had to do with too close a tolerance on a shaft the pedal is mounted on. There was something about a grease zerk and too little/too much grease. This is from an old failing memory so please don't hold me accountable as to accuracy.
Re: BX2200 HST pedal sticking (it\'s not the pivot)
Egon you are correct according to my dealer just last month there is a close a tolerance on a shaft the pedal is mounted on, he bored the shaft (under warrenty) and suggested using lighter weighted grease and try to keep it clean.
Re: BX2200 HST pedal sticking (it\'s not the pivot)
Yes, that's correct, that's the 'common' form of the problem. Mine has a grease fitting and it's well greased. You can wiggle the pedal and see that it's not sticking there. I can't really see the overall linkage, it must run inside the frame rails, and with the deck on, that's not going to be easy to see.
Re: BX2200 HST pedal sticking (it\'s not the pivot)
That's the thread I was looking for, it's funny to see that I posted the same problem back then.. still have not gotten it fixed. I'll see if I can find that spot where the shaft goes in.
Mine is really bad now, you have to stomp it the other way to stop it.
