The 15 amp fuse that is for my gauges and instrument panel lights blows quite often. I replace it and it lasts for a couple of weeks to a month and then blows again. Does anyone else have this problem. The tractor will still start and run without it. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of this tractor that they could scan for me so that I can trace the wiring? Thanks for any help.

I just checked the pdf file that Tractorsmart will send you if you ask. There is a schmatic for the wiring as well as the electrical parts. You might want to send an e-mail to those folks and ask for the parts manual. It is for FREE!

Good luck

I have the same problem. Have you filled your fuel tank to the top lately? If so, does your tank leak? Mine does, and dealer thinks the sending unit is loose and grounding out and blowing the fuse. Something to check out. If this turns out to be true I will let you know, it will be going for service in a week or so.

Thanks Sandy and Tom. I'll order the diagram and check to see if it is when I fill the tank that the fuse blows. Did replacing the sending unit cure your problem?

Yes I just noticed the slow drip on the left rear tire a couple of weeks back. Kubota has a service bulleting out on the problem. My BX2200 is currently with my dealer for the replacement kit. Best wishes for your repair.

Kubota has/had two problems with the tank. One with the tank itself and the other with the way the sending unit attaches to the tank. If the tank is leaking have them replace it, ALSO have them replace the sending unit. This way when it is out of warranty you will not have to fight with Kubota to fix it as I am doing now. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Did you ever discover what your problem was? I've had mine blow fuses for a over a year and finally decided to diagnose the problem, but have not had any luck. My fuel tank was replaced under warranty a few years ago and it does leak on the left side now (apparently from the gasket around the sending unit), but that does not seem to be the problem. We removed the left fender and disconnected the wiring from the sending unit, but still have the problem.

Thanks,

Harvey

Harvey,

Welcome to TBN :D

The thread you responded to is about 5 years old. Haven't seen Yankee in a while, so you might not get a response.

The fuel tank leak was common on early BX's but I haven't heard it caused a lot of shorts. Just leaks. There have been reports of shorts around the front harness, where wires come out near the exhaust pipe and some guys have had shorts from getting wires caught under the cowl edge. I personally play **** on that harness next to the oil filter every 100 hours or so...

Just have to isolate the circuit branches and test. Intermittent shorts can be hard to find. Happy hunting.

Thanks, Russell, I'll give those areas a try. We've been unplugging sensors, gauges, etc. and still have a short somewhere. I just got back from the dealer where the guy that heads up repairs was nice enough to loan me the service manual which will help isolate the trouble also. I realized this was an old thread but just thought I might get lucky.

Thanks again,

Harvey
