Backhoe BX2200 Backhoe experience?

I have read many posts on why NOT to put a backhoe on the BX2200 but I want one! I can't justify spending $7000.00+ to trade up to a BX22 for a backhoe. Especially when I am going to use it around the house for little things. So I am looking into purchasing the PUMA 6' backhoe. My question is has anyone actually put a backhoe on there BX2200 or BX1800? If so can you enlighten me on your experience?

According to my dealer, he's seen one Kelly on the back of a BX2200, but it was not pretty. These 3-pt backhoes are really too heavy for the 3-pt system and you risk breaking the frame of the machine. Even on larger tractors, a subframe is recommended. The BX-22 has a few hundred pounds of frame reinforcement as well as a four point fixed mounting system to deal with this.

I didn't enjoy taking the hit on the trade this week, but I'm glad I did. The BX-22 hoe is incredible--easy to operate and easy to install and remove. It was designed specifically for the sub-compact tractor, too. That $7-8 grand tradin cost versus $4-5 grand for the third party hoe might look really good should the tractor itself get seriously broken.

Look around for a used mini excavator - they can be had for between 5-8,000 though most will have some hours (1-2K) for that price. Look for % undercarriage if under 50% it could take a few thousand to put new tracks on.
