Can't find any other threads on this, but does anyone have any ideas to get the tranny out of Turtle?? I tried rocking, both gently and vigorously, but to no avail. I often run across town with it, and it's a fifteen minute trip in low. (yes, it's a small town.) Any ideas would be welcome.

It's happened before, but always worked its way back out. I've checked fluid levels, all seem to be OK, and tried both when it was both warm and cool.

Thanks in advance, to all, and I hope you are all enjoying your late summer.

I assume you mean the slow/fast lever is stuck and will not move from turtle to rabbit? I'd look at the linkage that connects that lever to the transmission. May just be an adjustment ? Might be an interlock between the fwd/rev pedal and the range lever ? If so try going to rabbit while barely edging the go pedal into fwd or rev motion. It will/should scrape but may "go" and let you change ranges.

Overall, sounds like an adjustment issue. Hopefully NOT something more serious or internal to the tranny !

Try going in reverse/forward and applying the brake....sometimes the shift is difficult.....and maybe an adjustment is need per above post.
Cheers,
Mike

Worth a try. However the "brakes" on these things are essentially worthless. Is on mine and 2 other BX2200s I have worked on.

I started to shift my L2501 from M to L the other day and I had to rock it back and forth while pulling on the lever as hard as I could. After I finally moved it, it seemed to get a little easier. Thinking back mine had been in M for months without being moved. Lesson learned. I'm gonna shift it every time I use it from now on. Hopefully it'll limber up.

If it is stuck in Low, how does it start? I didn't think the bx would start in gear.

You are right -- it has to be in neutral, neither rabbit nor turtle... if he did get it started (while in turtle) that is a huge clue to the whole problem. Means at the very least the sensor detecting neutral is out of whack... the plot thickens.

Interesting. From the day I bought it new in '09 I've never had to put it in neutral to start my BX24. Hmmm.....

Oh My! Sounds like something was wrong from the gitgo and no has migrated to a fresh problem... seek the dealer if you can.

I've had the mechanical linkages bind on both my B7610 and M4700. Get underneath, wiggle them around, spray a lot of garage door lubricant on them and they work again.
