When I got it back, it turns out that they installed a different block heater than the one I gave to them. The new one screws into the block on the right hand side near the starter. There is a plug that you remove with a rather large Allan wrench and the block heater screws in in its place. This is a much easier install than removing the freeze plugs.
That looks identical to the one I had my dealer install in my B2620 last year. When I first saw this thread, honestly, I was wondering why a block heater couldn't be installed on the side of the engine like on my B2620. Well, I guess that answers that question!
BTW, the one in my B2620 works really well heating up the engine.
