So I have a new Hamney 32" tiller (toolots.com) mounted and my normal center mower is still there.

I tilled the small garden fine with the mower set up high. Worked fine; I could lower the tiller yet the mower was still high enough not to drag.

But I know when I go to use just the mower alone, the tiller will be too low and will drag on the ground..

How can I raise the tiller (6 or 7"?) so it doesn't drag when I lower the mower?

I need some sort of vertical extensions on both side lifting arms holding up the tiller.

Thanks
Mike

Can’t answer your question, but my advice would be to take the tiller off when mowing.

You may get an uneven cut when you’re mowing with the tiller on because it may bounce around. May even make the ride uncomfortable.

Just my $.02……

Thanks but it is physically important to me to find a way to not do that! Has to do with age. I anticipate mowing and tilling to go on together for months.

Chain the tiller up, same concept as locking the mower deck in TOP while tilling. Top of ROPS to Tiller may work, ratchet strap could be used to test angles and mounts before making something more substantial.

I had a newer BX2350 at one time. there was a way to disconnect the lift arms and pin them up. I can’t remember how or if that’s even possible with an implement on.

Thanks for the ideas! Go from the top instead of lifting from the bottom! A faint memory came to mind after reading these replies and I checked further: THERE ARE HEAVY LUGS AT THE TOP SIDES WHERE YOU CAN disconnect the top of the lift arms and connect them to a solid point on the chassis! I found this and went out to check it out and indeed they exist. Now to see if they lift enough. If not maybe a combination of doing that and liftingfrom the ROPS!

The mower a"nd the 3 pt are both run off the same lift mechanism, so there is no way to isolate one from the other. You can do ssentially the same thing you do by setting the mower height to 'top' by diconnecting the top end of the links to the lower control arms of the 3 pt, and connecting them to the anchors on the body of the tractor. The manual does a better job of describing this that I did. The only problem is if you have any weight on the 3pt, you'll have to find a way to support it while you change the connection.

I don't think you will need to disconnect the links. You can lift the 3 point anytime and the mower deck should remain down. There is nothing forcing the 3 point down other than gravity and weight. Done that more than once in a pinch or by being stupid.

On the BX the deck is directly tied into the 3 point with linkage. If you raise the 3 point the deck follows.

Another thought is to get a quick hitch for the 3 point, that way taking the tiller off and on is easier.

But the 3 point and mower deck "float" independent and you "lock" either one up and the other will still drop. 4500+ hours on my BX, done everything stupid with you can imagine and then some. If 3 point did not just lift I would be hung up with all time while mowing my dam.
