BX1500 Newbie Questions

I have the 60" MMM and it mows as well as a Honda push mower. Never mow wet or damp grass or you will see tire and anti scalp wheel paths all over the yard. I'm most impressed with the 60" MMM over all the other toys I got with the tractor. It is a grass slayer.

If you've been driving in 4wd then before trying to disengage. drive a short distance (like 3 inches) in the opposite direction. It will help take the backlash out of the gears and "unlock" them.

That's the theory anyway. In practice, I have reduced this after several hundred hours to the fine art of muttering curses under my breath while nudging to and fro until it "unlocks".

I believe it is a feature that the Japanese auto manufactures made Kubota put on the tractor so that you would be more impressed with their super slick shift on the fly 4wd systems on their trucks.
