BX system pressure adjustments

I haven't been overly happy with the performance of my loader so while I had it in for some warranty work I had them check the system pressure. It was around 1,500 psi, <font color="red">well below </font> the upper end of 1,850 psi as stated in the service manual. 350 psi translates into a large loss in lifting power. So you may want to check this if you suspect your loader is not lifting like it should.

How did they adjust this? By adding/removing shims in the pressure relief valves?

Thanks....I've wondered what my pressure was, but not enough to take it in just for this. I've lifted about 920 lbs with the FEL, so I don't think I have a problem, but curious.

My BX2200 struggles to lift a full bucket of crushed limestone. Anyone have an idea what a cubic foot limestone weighs?

a cubic foot of limestone based cement weighs 94 pounds.... now to figure out the cubic space in the loader bucket will be your job... let us know....... thanks.... the Junkman

I think the bucket on my BX holds about 6 cu ft. If limestone is about the same weight as concrete, then a full bucket weighs 564 pounds. I guess my loader is performing to spec.
