BX Snowblower Tips?

Buy some colored cable ties and put 1 color on each side of each line. I had the same problem but not anymore.

If Kubota had thought for just a few more minutes on the subject, they could have fixed the FEL issue with the blower subframe. However, If I need to make a quick change-over and back, this is what I do. The FEL stand will hit the blower subframe if it's lowered all the way. If you raise the subframe cyclinder that raises the blower, you will be almost close enough. With 1 to 1.5 inches. Quick fix? Drive the tractors front wheels on to a couple of short pieces of 2 x 6 stock. That will raise the tractors front end up 1.5". Now if you raise the quick connect mount for the blower as high as it will go, you can drive up to the FEL and the stand will just clear underneath the blower subframe. Make your connections and be on your way. Another thing you could do if you have torches is to bend the feet of the FEL stand forward just about 2 inches and the problem is cured. I hated having to pull the drive shaft and sub frame off just to do a 20 minute FEL job. Good Luck and have fun with your "TOY" (Always call it a workhorse when the wife is around)

RockfromVY is this common on all the BX models. I have the BX24 and was going to get the blower but I would hate to have to remove the subframe to do a quick FEL job.

I was checking out the snow blower thread to find some information on tire chains. Didn't find the information I was hoping to but did notice many comments on dressing for the occasion. Thought I might throw out something for your consideration. As a avid motorcyclist in the tundra of MN, I've found an electric liner jacket extends the motorcycle season greatly. I'm planning to try it with my BX24, plugging it into the accessory socket. (This is my first winter with the BX.) If anybody is interested in checking out what is available, mine is by Firstgear, another well known manufacture is Gerbings. Widder was the first manufacture of electrically heat motorcycle clothing, though it was only a vest. Not sure if they make a jacket these days.

Cheers,

James

The subframe (aka quick hitch) for the BX blower goes on in about 5 minutes. Just lifts over the front grill guard mount and two pins below, hookup the shaft to the mid PTO, hookup 2 hydraulic lines, and done. I was skeptical too but now find it one of the easiest attachments.

And the blower is well worth it.
