Oil & Fuel BX oil filter concern

I've had a G1800 since 1995 and the oil filters have always been white with Kabota written on the side. I just bough a new filter and it's quite a bit smaller than the old one. I also went back to the dealer who told me the new G1800 oil filters are smaller. It may be an "across the line" change to go to smaller oil filters.

Is there a cross reference I can check to compare Kobota filters with Fram, Wix etc?

I used the link to cross reference to Wix and then (because Wix are hard to find here) over to Fram. I've heard good and bad about Fram but it's readily available here.

BTW: Wix to Fram gives me a filter for my G1800 that says "motorcycle" on the box. Any cause for concern to put a filter for a gas engine on a diesel engine?

No problem at all. The Wix filter for the BX actually crosses to a Nissan or Toyota. don't remember.
