Bx dipstick ??

Folks I know this has been talked about a few months back .I changed oil today on my Bx 2670, l let it drain about 3hrs and filled back up with Rotella t-6 5w-40 (new Kubota oil filter )and though the book calls for 3.7 qts I put the whole gal 3.788 in .My dipstick still shows about 1/2 way in between the holes.:confused3:

This is probably ok, but if you wanted to fill it to the top it probably isn't that much more, a 1/4 quart or so. I have the b2920 and I had to add a little more to some of the fluids than what the capacities called for.

I have the same problem with my current 2620 and with my old 2200. Seems that whoever translated the manuals was not too good at changing metric to US volumes. I always count on going by sight and filling the oil/HST up to the top mark of the stick after it is warmed up and everything has been circulated for a while.

ALL OEM manuals say that in between the add and full mark is OK. I like to fill mine to the full mark so that if the engine digests a bit of oil it is still above the add oil mark. Just don't overfill it as that is bad for the engine and the oil seals.
AS for hydraulic oil, my Kubota B26 only holds about a quart between not touching the stick and full or over full. So be careful when topping it up and don't overfill either motor or hydraulic reservoirs.
