bx deck lever

The first day I used the tractor (bx 1500) I lowered the deck and the lever went back to neutral position automactily, when I raised it did the same thing i know this normal. The next day I did some mowing worked fine. Today I lower the deck and the lever wont go back to neutral position by itself /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif But when I raise it it goes back. So I poke around and notice the rod has spring assit in both directions. I noticed the spring on the inboard side was not helping move it back to neutral. The locknut(bolt) slipped down the shaft against the hairpin. must never had been tight from the factory. So I re-adjusted it after a couple of tries. Works great now /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif first time I had it to tight popped back to neutral before deck dropped all the way. SEE ATTACHMENT

Thanks for the info. Actually I like the lever staying in the down psoition as it is a good visual indication that the mower is actually in the down position.

You might want to rethink that statement , I would think the fluid bypassing all the time is not a good thing. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

There doesn't seem to be any fluid flow with the lever in the down position. It seems like it just relieves the pressure in the cylinder, there is no hydraulic pressure, as I have to push the 3pt arms down if the deck is not connected.
