Doug,
Before I bought my
B2910 (almost 2 years ago), I looked at both the Terramite (at a rental outlet) and a 6000 series Ingersoll (at a dealer).
Their "digging" power and specs might beat the
BX22 and other tractors in that size. But for me, there was more to it than just spec. sheets.
Both companies appear to build very solid, heavy duty looking units. However, they looked very "industrial" and did not have the "good looks" of any of the regular compact utility tractors (Kubota, Deere, New Hollad, et al). They did have impressive loader and backhoe specs, but the rest of the unit looked rather crude. For a contractor or rental outlet, I think they probably would work very well, and perhaps even better than a normal CUT.
But for me, since they were in the same ball park pricewise as the tractors I was looking at, I wanted something that looked a bit more modern and something that would instill some real "pride of ownership". The Ingersoll and the Terramite just didn't "set my heart a flutter", so to speak.
Again, I don't want to take anything away from either unit. They appear to be very solidly built. They just weren't for me.
If they were substantially cheaper, I might have even been tempted, but I didn't see any real significant difference in prices when I was shopping.
