In a earlier post you all help me out with a suspect 2380. I told the owner that unit is not going to me. To many negative out of the box.
I asked if he wanted to call it a day or try something else, itç—´ up to him.
He said he has a 1888 and a 2680 in crates and would either of those work? He offered that they were all basically the same except for engine horse power. His salesman offered back at the beginning that even though all 3
use the same frt loader he would not recommend a quick detach bucket on the 1880 because itç—´ farther forward than the pinned bucket, risking some stability issues. The owner did not agree with that conclusion.
I said talk to your salesman again and let me
know If youæ±*e willing to proceed. I also said I obviously will not commit to something I haven稚 test driven. Prep it, let me drive it and We値l go from there. They値l get back to me next week.
I知 trading in a B2601 FLBHMMM thats to big for our new property.
Want the loader for snow and dirt, mower for 2/3 acre of grass. Thanks

SSQA is just one weight for all tractors: ~110 pounds. SSQA attached bucket does protrude a little forward of pin on bucket.
Combination of SSQA coupler weight and protrusion of coupler reduces modest BX Loader lift capacity.
LA344 Pin-on lift capacity at pins = 739 pounds
LA344 SSQA lift capacity at pins = 613 pounds

Don't you have the Kubota BX brochure??

SSQA only unless one knows for 100% they will never use FEL for anything but bucket and then still get SSQA for the next owner if it be a new buyer or heir. SSQA only!!!!!:2cents:

Your trading in a B2601 because it is to large? In what way?

Let me place the numbers side by side for you.....
Your BX is a half inch longer.
BX is 3.9" narrower.
BX is 1.9" lower at the ROPS.
BX has 4.4" less clearance under the front axle.
BX is 111 lbs lighter (bare tractor weights)
BX loader is 330 lbs less loader lift.
BX lifts 7.5" less height.
BX bucket break-out force is 620 lbs less.

Going to the BX is not saving you much at all in size, but it sure costs you a lot in performance! And when you trade that thing in, your going to want to bring a tub of Vaseline with you. You'll know what to do with that as the deal forms.

If you're adamant on a BX, you'll never go wrong with a little more HP.
Fortunately you didn't bring home the BX that couldn't seem to have the "coasting" problem adjusted out of it. A couple of adjustments and lubing the pedal took all of the problem out of mine in forward and quite a lot of it out in reverse.

Excellent advice. Keep the B2601.

I bought the 2601 set up to take care of 16 acres and put in a Koi pond. A year later a neighbor offered to buy us out at a premium
and we moved. Now .9 acre. Want a bucket to
move dirt and snow. A deck to mow and diesel
for safety sake and longevity. Whats thought on the 1880?

^^ Exactly. You will quickly forget about the little bit of lift capacity but always appreciate the convenience (as someone who just moved to a SSQA tractor) .

Good luck.

The only disadvantage to your B model over the BX is cutting the 2/3 ac. In every other scenario the B is an advantage. For 2/3 ac, I'd be looking at a dedicated ZTR that will probably cost as much as you are going to lose on a trade. If the 2/3 ac is open land (not a lot of trees and other curvy landscaping), the B should work just fine. If I had to give up my BX or my B, the BX would easily be the first to go.
