Mowing Bx belly mower guard

/ Bx belly mower guard #22
I bet the grass still accumulates around the pulleys with the guards off. I bet they designed and put them on the mower for a very good reason though.

I have noticed on different mowers with out the guards you hear a lot more noise from the deck.

Mine came off after the first mowing. Grass is spread out much more uniformly, with less windrowing, I can mow much closer to things, plus, it'll fit through the barn door. As for throwing projectiles at passing cars, I'm respectful and courteous to stop and shut the deck down when a car passes. I've ALWAYS done that. But then, respect and courtesy is pretty much a thing of the past. If you have really heavy traffic and shutting it down isn't really an option, mow with the grass blowing back into the yard instead of into the road. Again, respect and courtesy.

I'm with JesseB3 on this. I put a short eye bolt through the deflector. A small carabiner and a length of rope with a loop in it give me the option. Works well.
