kubota BX25
Does anyone know way Kubota doesn't use a primary and secondary air filter on the BX 25 like the John Deere 1025R. Would it cause any problems if I were to install the John Deere inner air filter in my BX, the filter housing is the same.

Thanks Mrfix

I'm no big time wrench, but I would assume there is a reason for no inner filter. If you are worried about the quality of air going into the engine, then simply change your filter more frequently--if something works, don't fix it!

Kubota made it that way for a reason. Many of their other tractors of that era have a two-stage filter so it is (or was) a known technique.

My guess would be that the air filter needs to be as designed to provide increased air flow. A second, interior filter, might restrict air flow too much and rob engine power.

OTOH, you could try the second filter and monitor the fuel usage, smoking, and power. It may act like a choke. That would give your answer.
