I would weld a stop (1/4" key stock) on each side of the thumb so it cant movr then you can remove and reinstall with out cutting it off.

Has anyone had this problem with a Woods BH6000?

The Wallenstein Thumb does not fit the BH6000. Yet. I nave a $400 paperweight in my garage until such time as I provide the manufacturer with some additional dimensions on the dipperstick so he can create/build a new thumb. He will send me the thumb to make sure it fits and he will then offer the thumb for sale to fit the BH6000.

To answer your question, yes. I had a huge problem such as this, but I hope the adjustments we make for it to fit the BH6000 will fix it on that BH at least. To be fair, I had steel shims and all manner of other shade-tree methods to coax the thing to fit. Worked great for a few minutes, then started sliding all over the place.

I don't like the "drill through the dipperstick" idea. Something doesn't sound right about that. I fully endorse the "weld a little stop to the dipperstick" idea so you can remove the thumb if necessary.

I'll let everyone know what happens with the BH6000 modifications. Worked has calmed down a bit, so I hope to get him the rest of the CAD drawings this week.

Has anyone put a Bro-Tek thumb on a BH6000? Were there any issues?

I have a BH6000 and from what I have been able to find out, the Bro-Tek is the only non-weld-on thumb that fits the Woods BH. I'm thinking of a weld on unit that I can remove the thumb parts. I need to do a bit more research before I get something however.
