BX 23 AIR CLEANER BRACKET

At 397 hours mine finally joined the ranks of the Broken Brackets.

Did Kubota ever come out with an up graded replacement bracket?

Is the Bracket a warranty item?

What timing! I was just logging in for the same reason and saw your post! I was out working on the tractor when, at idle, I heard a large racket from under the hood. I looked and saw that my bracket had just broken as well. I only have 100 hours on my tractor, and the bracket does not appear to be rusted. just a clean break where the strap meets the mount. I hope it still under warranty, and they improved the design!

I broke the part that bolts to the engine. I welded it to get me by.The dealer said the round part is the part that usually breaks.Is this correct.I got to pick it up its in.

Yep, it's the round strap that usually breaks.
First time mine broke, I welded it. It broke again. 2nd time I welded it then heated/anealed the rest of the strap. That was a couple hundred hours ago. I think the straps got work-hardend or something and became brittle.

Ever watch your engine at idle when it first starts up?
Mine shakes around like crazy.
I can understand why the bracket breaks.(mine hasn't yet but I am expecting it)
I thinks it need some extra braces or much thicker material.

Is this a free replacement or are they charging you for it?
Is this the up graded one?

I hit a couple of snags at the dealer today .
Seems they want to charge me for it.
New one looks same as the old one - didn't look up graded to me.

Kubota fixed this on the BX24. They moved the airfilter assembly includeing the bracket off of the engine and mounted it on the redesigned radiator houseing. They use a longer intake hose to make up for the reach.

When I idle mine, I idle it up to the smoothest rpm, but I know that eventually that bracket is gonna break on me too....
I think that all the BX23's have the latest and greatest bracket assembly, I don't thnk theres a newer design.

The bracket on my BX broke last year and after ordering the replacement from the dealer and seeing what it looked like vs. what it was going to cost (approx $30cdn) I decided to go with something that in my opinion is just as good. A pair of extra large nylon tie straps, if they work loose I can always pull them tighter and I'm sure they won't get fatigued like the steel bracket.

I did the same thing with my BX1500 when the original air cleaner strap broke about 70 hours ago.

Two extra long ty-wraps; a quick and easy fix and seems to be holding up well.

There was a post a few years ago with the part number for an upgraded redesigned air filter bracket for the Bx 2200, Bx22, Bx2300 and Bx 23 but I can't find it. If I find it I'll let you know.

I have a BX22. About 2-3 years ago I had the same problem and posted a work around on this forum but I can't find the post. What it was, after I found My air filter strap had broke, I had an old leather belt that I could no longer wear as it had shrunk. It was about 1 1/4 inch wide. Using the old metal strap pieces as a template, I cut the belt to length, drilled mounting holes and installed it. Over 150 hours later it is still going strong. Even if Kubota came out with a recall fix I wouldn't bother as I am more than happy with the results. Moral, don't pitch those old shrunken belts.

Just picked up a new bracket .
Ran into a glitch on the warranty aspect .

Kubota has the warranty period for only 12 months instead of 24.
Wonder how much fun that's going to be getting that corrected?

If it broke with in the warranty period it's a free fix.

I was at the dealer a few days ago and inquired about the bracket as mine had broken a week or so ago. I welded it up so there wasn't a rush. They had not heard of an upgraded bracket. They got back to me today and said there was a service report about the bracket for the Bx 2200, Bx22, Bx2300, but not the BX23. Isn't the BX22 & 23 the same engine? I would greatly appreciate if someone could find the new part # and/or the Kubota service note for the improved bracket. They said without the notice from Kubota they couldn't get the new bracket. I told them that someone on TBN would know more about it . This particular dealer has not been the most helpful or knowledgeable in the past.

While the experience I have had with my BX23 has been pretty much a happy one, I do have reason to think that certain things with it should of been redone before they got to be the problem they are now.

I have 103 hours on mine and the bracket has been broken for about 14 hours. I haven't fixed it yet (other than a temp one) as time has been short.

How, what seems to be nearly all of these units that have these broken brackets couldn't generate some sort of recall/ warranty fix is beyond me. Perhaps I should of bought the JD (even after he lied to me) after all. While my dealer (Coldwater Michigan) was thoughtful and attentive at the time of the sale, since the day of delivery I have been ignored and forgotten.

No, I am not happy just because I feel that if something important should go bad, I will be left holding the bag......
