What RPM do those of you with Tiny Tach get at idle and full throttle. Mine seems to idicate fast but I have no way to test it or calibrate it. I get 1280 at idle and 3360 at full throttle.
I'd like to help you, Jim, but I whacked my TinyTach with a fence rail that fell off the FEL a couple months ago and have to replace it...the display is trashed. But if my memory serves me, your readings are't far off from what I get on my BX22.
I have a BX2200 and no tach. I also have a B2910 with a tach.
When I mow with the BX, I just put the throddle full on (now have over 50 hours) and mow.
When I do other things with the BX, I just set the engine speed by ear.
So I have to ask, what does the tach on the BX do for the operator? I am not sure if I even need the tach on my B2910 actually. I do use it to set RPM at "550" for my rotary cutter, but other than that I never run at full PTO rpm anyway....
AT this point in time I don't know if I want to bother with a tach on my BX at all. And I am pretty sure I don't, actually...
Don't forget to remind Henro that it gives him another chance to drill holes in his tractor!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
On my 2200 that sounds about right. The idle seems fast but mine has always been that way. I normally mow between 1900 and 2300. Blowing snow I run at full speed and you know, I have never looked at the tach when I an blowing snow....guess I just figured that full speed was full speed...next winter I'll remember to look and see what the rpms are!
I understood that you ALWAYS run implements at full throttle on the BX, since that is the correct RPM for the PTO. I cut at full throttle, find that less usually does not cut as good. Tilling, full throttle does so much better with my clay soil anyway. I have a KK 48" about as big as you can get for this size tractor.
I was running my 2200 today. Cold start (90* outside) it ran at 1300 at idle.
Can't help you on full as I've not run it there yet.
I mowed some with my MMM and 1900 does fine for me (lawn type grass). Loader and 52" tiller do fine at that speed as well. When I get 50+ hours, I'm hoping to get more umph in my box blade.......
Is this tach cable-driven or electric?
It has a transducer that goes around one of the injector lines, and it senses the pulse when fuel is forced into the cylinder. So I guess it would be electronic... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
