bx 1830 mower deck removal

I'm curious and I dont have the manual for the deck. I can see the front latch and the lift arms need to come off but what about the shaft, where and how does it disconnect? I figured I ask here to streamline the operation :laughing:

The collar attached to the pto shaft slides toward the front of the tractor to release the shaft. I've always found it awkward to remove because, in addition to just being difficult to reach, you have to kind of push on the shaft toward the rear while pulling the collar forward.

Also, I've read posts on here about collars that didn't lock properly when reattaching to the pto shaft and flying off and destroying the trans oil filter, so make sure when you reattach the collar it is locked on by giving it a good pull.

Assuming yours is the same as my 2360, there are also 2 pins that you pull and rotate to release the deck from the 3ph linkage.

thanks for all the info. All worked out well. I was able to power wash under the deck and clean and regrease thoroughly. :thumbsup:

To make this job a little easier, check out these mower axle stands Mower Deck Axles,Carrera,Cayman,John Deere,Kubota. I have a set and they work great.
