And so, the quandry.. One more trip to the dealer tomorrow will have to suffice. I have all of the information, just have to make the decision!!

Can you get the EHSS or powershuttle on a TT?

The TT series and the TDD series are the old Fiat-Hesston frame with the newer Iveco engines.

Only choice on TT is 8Fx2R.

That ford basig 8/2 tranny is virtually bulletproof.. not much has changed on it in 30+ years.. ( at least thru the XXXX Non DP thousand series anyway.. )

Okay....the decision is made and the deal is done. Actually, the dealer helped with the decision. He dropped the price on the TN60A another $500, making the final price $16,200. I liked the idea of the additional power of the TT75A but the discount and the features on the TN closed the deal.

For those who don't know, the features that had the most impact for me were: 12 speed transmission on the TN vs. 8 speed on the TT, FULL synchromesh on the TN vs. 3-4 and 7-8 on the TT, shuttle shift on the TN vs. not available on the TT, two rear remotes std. on the TN vs. extra cost option on the TT, folding ROPS std on the TN, fully adjustable seat (front/back and variable driver weight) on the TN vs. almost no spring on the TT, front brush guard (??) on the TN included vs. extra cost on the TT, and what I consider a conventional rear axle on the TN vs. "outboard planetary" gearing on the TT.

I realize this type of rear drive axle has been used in other tractors, but my dealer seems to believe that its use here is mostly to cut costs by reducing the size and resulting strength of the final drive gearing in the differential. I just didn't like the looks of the drive axle not lining up with the wheel hubs.:(

Anyway, those were my discriminators and in the end it came down to price and features versus horsepower. Also in the package is a 7 foot box blade and a 2 bottom plow. We are negotiating on a 6 ft HD cutter, a disc harrow, and a sub-soiler.

The paperwork is done...all that remains is the delivery!!:D

Glad you chose the TN series, for a slight increase in cost, it's a great tractor, and you'll love the ability to shift on the fly with the full sycro tranny. You spent more, but you got much more tractor. :D

I wonder if the TT are specifically designed for RC / hi-clearance issues?

Does the TT come with a front weight bracket ( anyone know? )

I guess it is even more economy that the XX10 series was.. in that at least they came with remotes... hmm.. I gotta get by a dealer and see on of these.. especially the outboard planetary.. Kinda reminiscient of a ford 900.. etc..

Soundguy

I'm not sure about the TT, but I know a front weight bracket is an extra cost option on a TN. I suspect it is the same on a TT.

Congratulations, Hobbit. The TN series is a personal favorite of mine. I think it is a lot of tractor for the money.

Be sure to get at least two rear remotes. You may not use them often, but if you need them they are expensive to add. I have used my remotes for my square baler and operating the county's no-till seeder for planting pasture and hay ground. Also useful for equipment with lift gates or position control.

Good point on the rear remotes. I paid $580 in 2004 to have the dealer add a third remote. Wonder how much it costs today?

I see on the NH website that a TT45A and a TT50A are joining the line. Both are 4 cyl. with 35 and 42 PTO HP respectively.

Well, yesterday was delivery day!! The TN arrived in fine form along with the implements. Dealer actually washed (and waxed.!!) the tractor before he brought it out. I am completely satisfied (so far..;) ) and hope this tractor gives me long troublefree years of service. I am about halfway through the owner's manual, which I always read religiously before trying to make something perform some task (for which it may not be suitable!!). In any event there are no surprises so far!:)

Someone asked about a front weight bracket...they are extra cost on both the TN and the TT series. I did not get one..probably should have....Dealer says the weights are about a dollar per pound (slightly less). I have no plans for a FEL, so may need the front weights especially if the tillage jobs get heavy. Guess I'll just wait and see!

I still have to get my cutter, sub-soiler, and some sort of a harrow. I am going to pick some of it up this week, if I can get it on my trailer....

The next couple of weeks will be a real learning experience. I hope I don't break/damage anything before I learn how to use it..!!! The saga continues....

Congratulations on your new TN!

The good news is - it is under warranty, so don't be afraid to give her a good workout. :)

I believe the new TT model NH is the same as the old JX case that has been out for a long time, no suspended pedals, no inboard planetary rear axle the only difference is one is painted blue the other red, nothing new here but a great way to market a slow moving red tractor by building it in blue.
