Buying new tractor, B2650 power concerns

I personally wanted to stay away from the tier IV stuff so I went with the B2650. I haven't had this tractor for long enough to give you an honest evaluation but so far I pleased with it. My previous tractor was smaller than this one and it out performed my expectations. One thing I would recommend is to get the rear tires loaded. I found the back end to be pretty light and loading them with RimGuard solved that.
The loader specs are the same between the B2650 & B3350 and the weight is pretty close between the two. The only advantage of the extra HP will be if you need it for pto driven implements. I don't think you'd see much difference in three point, ground engaging implements at all.

Good luck
John

A couple of questions, you say mow 7 acres. Is that finish mowing once a week or two in the spring and summer? If so I would personally go for something in the 35 hp (gear) 40 hp (hydro) range and buy a 7' mower for the back. You can mow 5 acres an hour if you have nice and long runs without a lot of trees to mow around.

The second question is about the hills. They can also suck up a lot of power from the mower depending on how steep they are.

I am one of the ones that tends to over do things, so let that be known.

You will be very happy with the B2650. I bought a new one in June and have over 170 hrs on it. As a retired heavy equipment operator I am a fair judge of equipment. You will have no problem doing what you want with this tractor. I bought mine with turf tires, 60 in mmm, and 534 loader with 60 in QA bucket. I mow my yard 1 1/2 acres with the mmm. It is no problem to take the mmm off which takes 3 to 4 minutes to do other tasks. The loader is super easy and can be taken of in 2 to 3 min. So I wouldn't hesitate if you want mmm. I love mine. I also have land pride 72 in 3 pt finish mower to mow 5 acres of my property out back which the tractor handles easily. I have never run out of power. I also borrowed my brother in laws 72 in box blade and 72in rotor tiller because that was available to me to put in food plots. The tractor handled both of these with no problem. I did the same thing you want to do which is buy a tractor one time to last and I found it. Any other questions feel free to ask.

Yes finish mower every 1 to 2 weeks... See that's the problem, I have lots of trees... And some of them are on hills... I left anything over about foot and half diameter standing... I agree I think I am safer with the more hp... I don't figure I'll ever say, "this has too much power".

Sounds like you primarily need a lawn mower not a tractor? Or both.
Have you ever mowed arround lots of trees with a tractor (MMM or 3pt finish)? Have you ever mowed arround lots of trees with a zero turn mower?
If the answer in 'no' to either question, go rent one before you spend your change (would be my humble recommendation).

I was also worried about power and wasn't sure about going with a B2650, but after using it for a few months now I can say it has more power than I need. Try one out before going for the 33 with emissions.

I started small with 28 hp .. and always wished it had more power ........ so I bought a 45 hp........ and once again wished it had more. You'll always want "power" when it grunts.
