Tractor
2020 Kubota BX2380
Put a deposit down for a new BX2380V yesterday. I use my tractor to mostly plow snow in the winter on a 300' long mixed gravel and asphalt driveway. In the summer, I use the tractor to spread and groom gravel. I'm at the point where I hire a crew to mow, I just don't have the time. When I first bought my property I owned a Kubota B7800 and then, with construction complete, downsized to a John Deere X744, which has served me well for over 10 years, but I got a solid private party offer and thought it was time to upgrade to a SCUT.

I've got 3 Kubota dealers in my area, 1 of them didn't respond to my quote request, 1 responded but does not have the unit in stock and is saying 3 to 6 weeks for delivery and the last responded with a unit in stock but the attachments out of stock, saying 6 to 10 days to receive attachments.

On the tractor w/ std loader valve and R4 tires (no deck), with an MSRP of $12,775 (based on kubota.com), offered price after discount was $12,000. That's about 6% off. I then qualified for a $800 Kubota rebate, which lowered the tractor price to $11,200. That's about 12% off. For the attachments, I was charged list price. Not that I have much choice, but does this pricing seem reasonable?

Here is the complete invoice:
BX2380V Tractor $12000
BX2810 Front Quick Hitch $700
BX2812 Front Blade $1400
BX2825 Skid Shoes $142
LED ROPS lights, F&R $150
4' Box Blade (Used) $300
Total $13,892 plus tax & fees

Any "must-have" accessories I should consider?

Thanks

Price may depend to a large extent on your location. I would suggest a hydraulic top link to help manage the box blade. I considered a quick hitch for my Kubota M6040. However - I found that each of my implements would require modifications to match up to the quick hitch. I opted to NOT purchase a quick hitch.

That's a great idea. It would probably be cheaper to source the top link from a 3rd party, but perhaps this justifies adding the 3rd function hydraulics to the tractor.

The front quick hitch is what provides the frame mount and lift cylinder for the front blade. I am opting to go the hitch and blade route instead of the loader route.

Smart move. The loader-mounted blade on a BX is a waste of money. Useless, too. The weight of the blade that far out takes away all steering. I’ve been there. Blade gone. Now I have the front blade with quick hitch, and now the BX moves serious snow.

For the current market conditions I'd say that's a pretty good deal, it's also a very cheap tractor and setup so it's not like they're making much off of this sale so they are working with you. My local dealer who normally has hundreds of tractors on the lot can only keep 3-5 on the lot. My sales guy actually has about fifteen sales packets on his desk just waiting for tractors to arrive to fill them.

Might try getting them to throw in a set of forks for free? Probably be as much as you could hope for on the attachments side and I use my forks or grapple for about 95% of the time with the other 5% being the bucket and usually that's just for some very specific task.

Well have had no luck actually getting this tractor delivered.

Dealer took my deposit and two weeks later, apparently I'm still in queue waiting for the unit to get assembled.

Very frustrating experience trying to buy one of these right now. I may just bail and pickup a used unit.

I knew lead time on parts would be an issue for my M4, told them I’d take delivery immediately and bring it back when they got the parts to install. Have almost 40 hours on the tractor and it’s been more than 45 days since I brought it home.

Buying a new tractor right now will require patience.

Finally took delivery of the equipment. Very happy with the new front hitch and front blade attachments. Already smashed the ROPS into my garage door ;)

It wasn't until my third tractor I decided I needed to drive everywhere in the lowest gear/setting for the first 10 hrs:duh:
