buying L3700

Hey All, been reading lots on here, getting excited about getting my new tractor. Will probably sign papers in the morning. I am getting 5' shredder, 6' boxblade, 60" kuhn tiller.
I have a regular 16' flatbed trailer, will it haul ok on it with the loader and an implement on rear, such as shredder?
I have an older disc, rear hay fork and post hole digger already. I have a boom pole too, not sure how much I will use it with the new tractor since it has a loader.
Should I get a grader blade that swivels or will the box blade work for that?
Tractor doesn't have the cruise control, is that a big deal? Is it worth extra to have it installed before I get tractor?
How about pallet forks to use for a work platform or hauling logs/boards, posts, etc..?
Also would like advice on any other add-ons that I might try to get dealer to add while I am still dealing with him.
Would extra hydraulics benefit me, what would I need an extra remote for or what would be a good use for it? Thanks for all of your help. God Bless!

Here are my thoughts, The grader blade can be handy for snow, I would get the cruise control, handy if you mow in long straight stretches, and also since the split brakes are on the right side, to use them (if you have the HST tranny) it is either an akward left foot thing, or with your left hand you can engage the cruise for foward motion and then use your split brakes, by taking your foot off the hydro pedal. Not a big deal if you have gear tranny. The forks are very usefull for a lot of things. A lot of people palletize a lot of different things, and use the forks a lot. hopefully you have the QuickAttach bucket system and are talking about Quick Attach forks. Get all of the hydraulic outlets you can afford, including a set on the front for a grapple, or snow blade if you can afford it. Get the drawbar too, I believe it is an option on the L3700. One other thing I can reccommend is using truck bed liner material on your floorboards, I started a thread on it about 7 months ago.
It was a pain to take the stuff apart and apply it, but I really like it. And it is holding up well. Here is the link if your interested. Congrats on the new tool/toy/workhorse.

Hit the nail on the head, quick coupler on front, to take off bucket and or add forks, plow. Box blade better for leveling dirt, back or grader blade for dirt also but great tool for snow.

Thanks, I am getting the QA loader. My dealer is throwing in the draw bar. We don't get much snow here, just wondering if the scraper blade might be handy for light dressing for keeping a driveway. I have about 700 foot sandy drive.
Keep the info coming, I am going to see what he would put the cruise control on for and make that decision. I appreciate the advice, keep it coming.

It would help if you up dated your profile so members could see where you live to give you good honest answers to your questions. Yes back blade would do driveway if small amounts of snow are your issue. Box blade is much better for leveling out driveway or areas of land.

your going to love the Kubota L3700, as Kubota's are great tractors. I know because I have two and will be buying my third. Did you know kubota just came out with two new models in the L line tractors? L3200 and L3800 are the new design tractors, replacing the L2800 & L3400, have you seen them?

Yea Devildog, I saw the new ones but Kubota has the 3400 and 3700 on 0% for 60 months. From what I have learned so far, both of the older ones have been around and proven to be great tractors. I am a little leary of the new models of anything but with the financing I opted to go with the 3700. Just hoping I can get the dealer to help out on the cruise control addition and am going to check on that slide out stabilizer kit for the 3 pt that I have been reading about on here. Not sure how much of an issue it will be for me now, but might like it alot as I get...lets say, more mature Have a blessed one!

Yep you got the right ideas. I am getting along ok with my turnbuckles, but the stabilizer kit would be a blessing if you can swing it. Lots of the guys use the Pats Quick hitch, to, or one of the 1 piece quick hitches, I am using the carters, they work fine, you have to get off and put in pins but you have to get off anyway with the pats for the toplink. I wish I had negoiated some of these things when I bought, Just did not think of some of these things, up front, and wish I had them now. Would be a lot easier on the 0 % percent financing instead of coming up with the money all at once now. You will surely want the tires loaded also, I did my own, but it cost over $200 Good luck,

Hey Devildog, yes, I am trying to get as much with the tractor as possible, as well as getting as many implements that I can afford with the financing. Probably will be the only new tractor I ever buy and want to try to get 'most' of what I need up front. Thanks again for the info. God Bless

Consider getting a Grader Scraper instead of the Box Blade if your primary application is driveway maintenance. I use one behind my L-Series to maintain a couple different rock driveways. It is much easier to use and will give you far better results. A little higher than the typical box but you'll end up using it much more. Here's a link I found on YouTube of one in action. I sure can't improve on the information/advice given so far. I haven't seen a hydraulic top-link mentioned. It makes using the box blade much easier and more effective as well as makes hooking up easier.

I haven't been able to justify the cost of a grapple, but lots of folk love theirs. Now if money was no object...

I am sure you are aware of the jerky 3-point hitch on this model. For some it is problematic and for some it's not. I have tractors that do this and some that don't.

I have two back blades I haven't used in years, but some find them really useful. If you get one, get a good quality, heavy unit that tilts.

The 3700 will fit on a 16' trailer with a 5' bushhog but it will overhang a foot or so out the rear.

I built and maintain a 1000' gravel driveway with a boxblade, because it's what I have. I'm sure there are better options but the boxblade will get the job done.

I had the dealer install the cruise control as part of the deal. I think it was worth it but YMMV. If you do any amount of pasture mowing it is worthwhile, if you only do dirtwork (back and forth) you don't need it.

The 3700 is a nice little tractor and will do anything you need within the limits of its' size.

Thanks again for the info and advice. My tractor is being 'made ready' for delivery! I did have them add the cruise control, it was only 199.00 for them to add it and I figured down the road, it should be well worth that to me. I am sticking with my 16' trailer just to keep my payments down and I can manage to haul it when necessary. They had the canopy on when I saw it today, looked good, they are waiting on the parts to add the cruise. May have it ready tomorrow but I may delay delivery because I will be out of town for a few days and am hating the thought of it being here and I will be gone lol I do appreciate all the help and look forward to learning more on here and also from some experience!
