The absolute best broadcast seeder/spreader I've ever used is from VICON. You won't get one for $500 though.
The Herd seeder is extremely accurate with grass seed. There are broadcast seeders that'll spread fertilizer, ect, and do just as good of a job, but when it comes to spreading small seed, Herd takes a back seat to few if any.
Try Sweet farm equipment in Mundfordville Kentucky. Ken Sweet WAS an active TBN board member for quite a while. I haven't seen much of him of late though. He has M96's listed on his website for $450. Site hasn't been updated in some time, so it may be an old price. He ships too. Might be worth a shot.
