Guys I need a big bale feeder for horses - Tractor supply is about the only place around here that would sell one and it's a 2 hour drive.

I looked at their website - It appears theirs are for cattle - How different is a horse feeder from a cattle feeder?

Anyone have a recommendation or thought about TSC bale feeders durability?

Thanks!

Horse Round bale feeders don't have the upper ring so they can get their heads/necks to the hay. They also use them for horned cattle. The feeders have a double loop at each "station".

www.cashmans.com is a supplier in Ohio, they have a picture of a horse feeder on their website.

I have fed my horses with the rings I use to feed the cows, but they rub bare spots on their neck where the upper ring comes in contact with their mane when they eat the hay. I solved the problem by cutting the uprights 6" above the third ring and then rewelding the top ring so that it is at the top of the stubs. This makes a ring that is about 18" high. All my rings are made of sucker rod, so this remedy might not be so easy with thinwall tubing.
