OK I had a plumber connect the grill, I was a bit too scared to mess with the gas line after a house blew up here in CA. Good thing I did he fould three leaks at the meter from the gas company side and from the house side.
He fixed the house side and The gas company is on high alert and came out within the hour to fix their side.
We has some quakes lately so that's what I can assume did all the leaks.
Man theis grill just saved mylife, I would have never checked for gas leaks - I didn't even smell the leaks as I walk by the meter every trash day.
Best $175.00 I ever spent on a plumber. WHEW dodged a bullet on that one. Can you imagine someone getting a flame near that of having that gas leak into the garage and have the
hot water tank pilot light hit that gas. Time to buy lottery tickets.
Yes these grates are 100% stailess steel
Solaire 27GXL Stainless Cooking Grate - SOL-2813R
So the grill fired right up, still stunned the guy sold an almost 4K grill for $200.00. Here's my theory. Here is the Plam springs Ca. are it has one of the largets amounts of the rich and famouse.
I've heard stories where these "rich" people will just toss out a house full of quality furnishings and just replace it all on a whim. This guy worked for a furniture comopany so I'm assuming
he went on a dlivery and the owner of a house they just purchased and said "take this with you I don't want it " I want to buy my own NEW GRILL......yes sir.
With all the suggestions here I let her up and BAKED" whatever was on there. Then I took a razon and attacked it.
Then I "seasoned" the grates. Went 100% high again for 30 mintes, let it cool spareyed cooking oil on all the grates
letthat stand over night wire brushed it high heat again spray cooking oil again.
That's what did it
You know what's next boys, a trip to Costco and a couple of large T bone steaks.
Thanks all for the assist. Where else can you go to get great grill advice than a tracor site.
