If you couple a 40cc motor to a 315cc motor directly than put 8 galons per minute of oil into the 40 cc would the 315cc pump approximatly 32 gallons per minute under no pressure/open line .I have no idea if you could get 32 gallons through the 1/2 inch ports.

If my math is correct the 40 cc motor would turn at 757 RPM with 8 GPM flow. The 315 cc motor at 757 RPM would produce 63 GPM

or 315/40 = 7.88

7.88 * 8 = 63

32 GPM through 1/2 inch ports would have velocity around 35 Feet per Second.

recommended max velocity for a pump inlet is 4 Feet per Second

Thanks for the insight I'm trying to visualize if it is as simple as reducing the input to bring the output into an acceptable range.

yes, if you can develop enough torque to drive the larger pump/motor. May want to also confirm that your components will operate at that low of RPM.
