We have a bumper crop of Buffalo Gnats this year. They sure make fishing and mowing miserable, I have never seen them as bad as this year. It seems to be a state wide problem in Illinois and has made the news. I don't know the grand scheme of the gnat other than making all other living things miserable and will be glad when their breeding cycle is over. Now after the gnats all we will have to contend with is Horse Flies, Deer Flies, mosquitoes, Ticks, Chiggers and various other biting and stinging critters. This is why I like Winter!
