Bud's Clydesdale???

I'm guessing the Bud's Clydesdale have been coming to the Morgantown area for the past 10-15 yrs. We see the team ,and all the vans go past our house , because they keep the team on our neighbors farm with a indoor riding arena . The truck and van drivers have stopped and talked with us over the years, great group of men .

Not clydesdales, but years ago an old local farmer had a team of "work horses" on the farm and would use a team to pull his wagon to town about once a month... huge horses.

It was a little before my time, but I was told that one of my great-grandfathers farmed in Arkansas with a team of Percherons. Percherons might not be quite as big as Clydesdales, but I'd guess they're the next size down; still huge.

A bit off topic, but my Dad told me that his Dad had a matched set of Percheron mules. Big, young, strong and beautiful. He said that after WWI started (Dad was born in 1910), the Army came to the farm, confiscated the mules and hauled them away. They left a check for $800...seems like a good price to me.

In 1993 we were looking around the Lancaster/Hershey area of Pennsylvania and saw a matched pair of light colored brown mules that were the biggest mules I've ever seen. I don't know what their ancestry was, but they were both the biggest and the most beautiful mules I've ever seen. I wondered if a Clydesdale might have been in their ancestry.

Hey, are you trying to start a fight? Bud products were the beer of choice for me for many years, but then I just about quit drinking beer and they had to sell the company.

Nice one Bird! :)

We live near Amish country. They use a lot of draft horses to plow. Belgians mostly I think.
