Backhoe bucket woes

I have another question why is there to different places to pin the top of the bucket where the bucket curl cylinder attaches? There only about four inches apart!?

Please refer to it as the bucket retracting/digging/crowding cylinder.


The reasons have to do with the following

1.the type of earth encountered

2. how sloppy it is

3. the desired stroke length of the bucket crowding function

4. the desired final trench or excavation depth

5. how much extra reach is desired(which is big NONO when digging in compacted earth as it is a good way to tear out a crowding cylinder on a bucket.

Its mostly loose dirt just alot of trees I have to clear! My grandfather farmed this area in the late 70's. As far as the slop in the machine it is very tight and smooth! Once I get it cleared and the barn built im going to run the tile from the gutters out to a a field tile so the deepest I should be digging is around five feet! Just have to go a little over a hundred yards!

Where are you located, I might know of one a friend has. Case used a more rounded bucket than Ford did. Ford used a long Banna backed bucket and Case had a short deep round one. I had a Case bucket on my FOrd one time I bought at a sale and it had Ford ears. It didnt dig right to me I adapted it back to a freinds Case.

I am in southern Indiana. Yeah the one on it is kinda shaped like a banana lol!

Its a 24 in bucket would like to find a 18in bucket!
