Tractor
1978 Kubota
I was lowering the bucket on my Kubota tractor and it wouldn't stop going down. I had to shut off the tractor to stop it. Anybody know what that problem could be? When it happened I felt a little knock in the handle. Like a locking mechanism.

You are in "float" . You have up, down with pressure and float, pushed past down. It is handy for back dragging as the boom will "float" to match the grade. Should be covered in your owners manual.

Yes, float. It would have stopped at ground contact and wouldn't have raised the front wheels.

You have discovered your float position.

Does anybody know how to get it out of float? I've given it a lot of pressure but it doesn't seem to budge.

Pull straight. back, in float you hit the "detent" .As said float is great for back bladeding ect.

If he had knocked it all they way into float it wouldn't have stopped when he killed the engine.
