/ Bucket position when parking tractor #22
It depends on what I have been doing, what I think I will do next and what the weather report says.

Our lives outside ..... plenty of room to park it where it won't be tripped over. No cab, no roof, nothing fancy at all.

If I have been digging something that leaves the bucket dirty and I plan on using it again as soon as it quits raining, I park it to catch watr so it is easier to wash out when I come back.

If it will be a while before I will use it again, usually dumped so it will not collect water.

As for the backhoe bucket .... if the skies are clear and no rain is expected, I will leave it the way it rides - facing up but not fully curled.

If I don't want to worry about it collecting water .... I leave the teeth pointing down but not turned back .... just hanging down.

More important to me is how I leave the seat ...... if I want it to be dry the next morning I flip it forward ..... hate sitting on a wet seat :(

I curl the bucket all the way back, so that those two cylinders are fully retracted and the rams won't be exposed to the elements. Then push forward into "float" and let the heel of the bucket drop to the ground. The bucket will fill with water if it rains, but I've never noticed problems with that. I'd rather keep the cylinders as retracted as possible.

Our tractors all parked under roof so, I level bucket, grapple etc. and lower to concrete after shutting tractors down. Neither sit more than a few days between use.

If parked outside, (rarely) curl bucket over where no rain captured in bucket.
