Bucket indicator

   / Bucket indicator #11
I admit that I haven't looked yet, but I'm pretty sure the bottom end of the rod on my DK45 is threaded and allows a fair amount of adjustment...implying neither the rod nor the tube should need to be trimmed. Aren't they all like this?

The "tube" that holds the rod - on mine - is not a tube at all but a piece of flat iron with a hole in it. Cutting any amount off the rod risks the rod pulling out when the bucket is tipped down. My rod has infinite up/down adjustment and has a slight bend where the bucket is supposedly level. If the bucket is not at the proper position when the bend is at the hole in the plate - you simply adjust the rod.

With use/practice/experience you will soon know where the bucket is and this indicator system will not be so critical.
