I have a Kubota lx 2601 su with 14 hours and was wandering if it's normal for front loader to drop or forks to drop over 5 or 6 hours with a load or no load still drops has done it since new

Like floppy bucket syndrome?

NEVER leave a load suspended unattended.

NEVER leave the bucket or forks suspended unattended.

When we bought our JD 6200, I was sure that we would own a machine where hydraulic stuff stayed up, JD identified for many decades for their quality hydraulics.. Well it didn't, and neither does my older Kubota Wheel loader. The 3ph does stay in place on the JD.

It makes me curious. Does anyone have a newish loader that stays perfectly in place?

Yes, when they are resting on the ground.

All hydraulic system leaks, some microscopic that leaks slowly over time, some significant that it’s a safety / operation issue.

Good quality loaders used to stay up. What's changed? Is it the cylinders or the valve?

Good question, but did they really ever stay up? The bucket on my JD 870, now over 20 years old, crept down a couple of inches over a few hours when it was new. I never noticed the loader arms did, and still haven't.

I think they did. Construction equipment of the 70s seemed to be able to keep it up.

The answer is valves. Most valve manufacturer will list their internal leakage as part of the spec sheet. Some are definitely better than others.

My previous Kubota L3410 would slowly dump over a period of hours. Under warranty, the mechanic that looked at it quoted a Kubota leak down spec and said it was well within spec.
I haven't checked my current L4060, but whatever it may leak down doesn't affect my loader use.

I do ground the bucket and implements when not in use.

The bucket on my My new 5800 seems to stay in place but, I never leave it up except to quickly grease a couple hard to reach zerks.

What I have learned to watch out for are the stabilizer legs on my bh. I use the bh all the time so I keep it on, good for weight distribution too.

The stabilizer legs leak down and before you know it, you got baby wings hanging out, generating very little lift! I致e not yet smashed into anything but at any speed at all, if you hit something with one of those legs, something痴 gotta give?

It may be normal. Was just wandering. I use the forks when running the sawmill to put lumber that needs edged or slabs. It drops about an inch a hour. My 74 John Deere might drop a inch in 8 hours

My 2013 Yanmar LX490 for 4 years stayed absolutely put for 4 years, even overnight with out noticeable droop. Cant say it didn't drop a small amount. Then one day at about 1100 hours, my son caught the bucket which was in the drooped vertical position on edge of big stump while traveling full throttle in 5th gear. about 4mph, and grenaded one of the curl hoses like a tire blow out. Replaced the hose and back in business but ever since then the bucket will drop enough to dump its load in about 3 minutes. Very aggravating to live with. I need to figure out whether it is a internal cylinder leak or the control valves.

But Yes some hold extremely well for a good long time of service.
