It maneuvers well, but I found that I had to make a couple of passes in a few spots. When going around curves it requires a little finess, but it does a great job in no time. Once we got all of the excess grass removed we can use the bucket edger to cut through the new growth horizontal root runners and then apply Kills All without effecting the desirable wanted grass.

I agree with Mace. a coulter off of a plow would work much better if anyone else were to build one. Inspector, you did well in building yours but I think it can be improved. A plow coulter mounted on a piece of heavy channel mounted on the lip of your bucket would pivot on curves and would be easy on and off if mounted like a ratchet rake. Ed :2cents:

Agreed. Since it's not necessary to cut all that deep for an edger, it would also be doable to use a old saw blade as the cutter wheel, 7.5 to 12" or so, mounted to the forks, or weld additional fork arm length to the forks of a castering wheel.
