I'm looking to get a 48 inch brushcutter and was wondering what brand people are using and if they had to do any mods to the 3pt ot get it all working properly. Trying to avoid that. Thanks
I have a BX22 and a 48" KingKutter rotory cutter. All I did to it was to lower the lift pins about 6". I could have used the stock pins, but I didn't feel it gave me enough height when lifted.
Lowering the pins is no big deal.. Drill a hole, insert pin, tighten.
And of course, as with any PTO driven implement for any tractor, you will have to size the PTO shaft.
I bought a cutter designed for Sub Cuts - it was a FarmForce brand sold by TSC. The Tarter Gate Co. makes them. Decent quality and it didnt (for me anyhow) require any mods when I used it on my BX.
BX2200 with Gearmore heavy duty 40" model. Search the Kubota forums for BX coupled with brush hog, rough cutter, rotary cutter. There are literally multiple hundreds of posts on this subject.
I have Befco Tornado (Model RSD-148) standard CAT1 for the BX2350. No complaints, price was reasonable, and fit and finish was good. Front ballast is a must.
I have a Landpride RCR1548 for my BX2660. Works great for cutting all kinds of stuff from grass to weeds and saplings. Well built and actually leaves a decent looking cut. Its often hard to see the line between where I stopped with my riding mower and started with the rotary cutter.
