Broken Fender / Floorboard

Here is a picture of the break. This will be covered under warranty and Kubota is looking for a lasting solution. In the mean time, make sure you climb on your tractor by placing your foot toward the front of the tractor.

Mine is broke up by the grab handle bolt. It appears that the only support is up at the bolt for the handle. The fender pulls down where yours broke up to the handle where mine broke.

Do I see things right here, on your picture the fender/floorboard seems to be in plastic?

I'll second that question... a plastic operator's platform? If true it's very dissappointing.

I looked at the new BX's while I was at the dealer a few weeks ago. There are several areas where Kubota has made what are in my opinion, negative design changes. One of those is the thickness of the three point hitch subframe and drawbar. My older BX1500 has a much stouter 3PH than the new BX24. Maybe it's overkill, but hey?...

I'm almost positive that the floorboard itself on my BX2350 is metal, not plastic. The fenders are plastic, and seem to be very solid. Certainly more so than the metal fenders on my brothers 1 year old B7510....

They just don't make plastic like they used to.

Exact reason that I'm glad that I have the "old" model BX2200...STEEL vs. plastic in critical areas..floorboard, fenders, hood,mower deck shoot.

The Floor Board is metal, the Fenders are plastic.

I've never seen metal where the color went all the way through. Also I've never seen a metal floorboard that thick. It sure looks like plastic to me.

If I remember well my former BX23 was made of steel. I don't understand why Kubota changed the material for a new design. I hope they'll fix your tractor as soon as possible.

Ok, I see it now. Had to look a little closer at the pic. Now I see the seam where the metal joins the plastic is in about an inch or so from the bottom of the fender. Makes sense that is where it'd break....they're gonna have to stiffen the floorboard up to keep that from happening. Let us know if you hear of a real fix...

I don't know but the crack on the left side still looks like orange all the way through to me to. I can see where the fender comes down on the right. Still looks like plastic but maybe it's a picture thing. Still seems metal might split on a straighter line.

The metal start out where the bolts are. The break is on the plactic.

I think we need another picture

. Just to be sure. Am I the only one thinking that bolting metal on plastic isn't right? Metal on metal: OK; plastic on metal: it could; metal on plastic: I don't understand!

I am very sorry about your fender, I am also very sorry if you are a New Kubota owner and we recommended this to you. We had no idea that Kubota would try to pass this off to future owners of what used to be a very durable and sturdy floorboard and body assembly. Surly they must have reduced the cost of production and passed it on to the consumer?
What is going on with Kubota these days? Very dissapointing to say the least, and its not even mine.

Saw this in one of the magazines I get at work. Shows size of molded (plastic) fender in the 2350. Floorboard may be metal but certainly not the fenders. Nice one piece molding! Hood too!

I have the BX1850 and mine is broke in a different spot. It is a poor design compared to BX1500 I had.

By the way, how do you edit now??

The design problem seems to be with the support of the floorboard where the metal flooboard is joined to the plastic fender assembly. If the support problem is corrected, only time will tell if there are other disadvantages and possible advantages in using plastic for the fenders. I'm personally hoping for long term benefits.
